Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Triple Distilled, is a smooth and vibrant whisky with outstanding character.
This single malt combines the finest concerto malted barley with the incredibly pure water of Loch Katrine and is fermented for over 72 hours before being distilled painstakingly slowly in our traditional copper pot stills, three times.
The additional third distillation removes heavier oiler compounds from the spirit so only the lightest and purest spirit is collected to make this incredibly light and smooth whisky. The resulting new make spirit is wonderfully fruity and bright and is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and virgin American oak casks which are married together before bottling.
Non-chill filtered, natural in colour and bottled at 46% ABV, this is a wonderfully well-balanced and vibrant single malt with notes of shortbread, honey and double cream with a warming woody spice.
Tasting Notes:
Vanilla, soft caramel, sweet honey, shortbread, orchard fruits, floral, almonds, hints of warm spice and liquorice.

Marke "Glasgow Distillery"
The Glasgow Distillery Company wurde 2014 gegründet und ist die erste Single Malt Brennerei in Glasgow seit 1902. Nach alter Tradition wird dort nun wieder Single Malt aus schottischer Gerste und Wasser aus dem Loch Katrine hergestellt. Seit der ersten Veröffentlichung der ersten Single Malts hat die Brennerei mit ihren Produkten bereits viele Preise gewonnen:
- Glasgow 1770 The Original wurde bei den 2023 IWSC Awards mit 95/100 möglichen Punkten bewertet und somit mit Gold ausgezeichnet.
- Glasgow 1770 The Original wurde 2023 an der International Whisky Competition mit Gold und auch als 'Best Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky' im Wettbewerb ausgezeichnet. Dies ist für die Glasgow Distillery bereits das fünfte Mal hintereinander, das einer ihrer Whiskys als bester Lowlander ausgezeichnet wurde. The Original erhielt diese Auszeichnung schon 2019 und der Glasgow 1770 Peated gewann 2020, 2021 und 2022.
- Glasgow 1770 Peated gewinnt 2021 an den Scottish Whisky Awards Gold.
- Auszeichung als “Distillery of the Year 2020” bei den Scottish Whisky Awards.
