Jim McEwan's persönliche Eindrücke:

Colour: Amber / Topaz / gorgeous honey orange.

Body: Full bodied, brawny, strapping and rippling, a Celtic warrior bursting to impress.

Nose: It opens boldly with rich sweet sherry, dry peat smoke, a dusting of crushed sea shells and tarry fishing nets. Then giving a little aeration aromas of dates, prunes and of course Oloroso grapes. It's magical and the aromas just keep coming like waves to the shore. Hints of cinnamon bark, liquorice and juniper wash over the senses in an Islay symphony, the peat providing a cradle of warmth and strength that is truly a reflection of my native home and its people.

Palate: It’s a brilliant combination of hand crafted peated whisky and the Solera notes of aged sherry mingle beautifully throughout the journey, bringing warmth and passion to the spirit that almost died. Roasted walnuts, oak syrup, creme brûlée, sultanas, sun-dried seaweed and smouldering peat fires. It’s all in your hand, inhale and taste with eyes closed tight and the spirit will transport you to the shores of my home and along the way you will enjoy the warmth of a Spanish sunset.
