Destilliert im Jahr 2011 und nach 13 Jahren Reifung in einem Sherry Hogshead im Jahr 2025 abgefüllt, handelt es sich um eine streng limitierte Single-Cask-Abfüllung mit lediglich 274 Flaschen weltweit.
Wie bei The First Editions üblich wurde der Whisky fassstark mit 53.5 % Vol. abgefüllt, ohne Kühlfiltration und ohne Zusatz von Farbstoff – so bleibt der ursprüngliche Charakter des Fasses erhalten.
Die Kombination aus Inselstil und Sherryfass verspricht ein vielschichtiges Aromaprofil: getrocknete Früchte, dunkle Schokolade und Gewürze verbinden sich mit maritimen und leicht rauchigen Noten, wie sie für Whiskys von der Insel Jura typisch sind. Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Whisky kraftvoll und ölig mit reifer Frucht, nussigen Nuancen und würziger Eiche, gefolgt von einem langen, wärmenden Abgang.
Mit nur wenigen hundert Flaschen ist diese Abfüllung nicht nur ein spannender Dram für Liebhaber von Sherryfass-Whiskys, sondern auch ein interessantes Sammlerstück aus der renommierten Serie The First Editions.
